Coaching continues at a merry pace
It's wonderful to see the excitement in learning a new sport.
THE coaching bus at Uvongo Tennis Club continues its well-oiled run to improve the skills of the younger set.
Last Friday Richard Pringle and Debbie Meyer of Southcity Christian College stressed the need to be quick about the court, and warned about being caught in what they called the graveyard of the court.
On Saturday morning, Ali Majova’s much larger group, knocking at the door of 30 pupils, had lost none of their enthusiasm for, and patent enjoyment of, the game.
Under the watchful eye of Julia and Daniel Christiansen, the green shoots of measured backhand and forearm strokes are growing apace.
Members are reminded of the annual Christmas lunch to be held at Riverside Bowling Club on Sunday, November 27 at 12 noon.
Please examine the wide ranging menu on display at the club, and choose your own favourites for the big day.
Graham Neyt celebrates his 80th birthday on November 17, and will be at the club to receive birthday congratulations after the Thursday tennis.
