WHAT a dilemma faced Jean Marx who was on duty last Saturday with the weather in the morning looking as if there would be no tennis that day.
But the rain stopped just in time and, with a bit of squeegee-ing, the courts were playable and the sarmies were quickly put together along with sausage rolls and a lemon meringue pie, all enjoyed by the 16 players who soon appeared when the weather cleared.
Lynne Rorich is back from Cape Town and ‘regular’ visitors, Rod Hackland and Kylan Guest brought different plans of action into play.
Members welcome new member, Brighton Dara, into the club and wish him many happy hours of smashing tennis in the years to come.
The Christmas get-together will be held on December 10 after a fun tournament.
Members will not have to pay for the meal which will be lamb-on-the-spit and roast chicken served with accompaniments, followed by dessert but spouses and partners will pay R95.
