THERE were some superb scores at Southbroom Golf Club last week.
On Wednesday, the women’s comp was won by Irene Schanda, Sharon Turnbull-Jackson, Jeanne Powell and Casper (the ghost) on 93 points.
Runners-up on 88 points were Candida Amm, Sandy Luus, Maeve Mullane and Casper again.
Winners of the men’s comp were Gerald Fitzgerald, Joe Carolan, Paul Cole and Casper (having a busy day) on 99 points, on a countout from Ossie Osborne, Tilly Nel, Terry Doré and Tony Westoby.
Third went to Derek James, Gary Purtell, Malcolm Greenland and Colin McKay on 95 points.
Thursday’s women’s Christmas Comp, a 9-hole alliance, was won by Kate Currin, Angela Erasmus, Carol Lamb and Ann Faber.
Runners-up were Geraldine Treherne, Irene Schanda, Jenny Westray and Shelley Myers.
Saturday’s comp saw Sandy Luus and Jeanette Peyios clean up on 47 points.
One point behind were Allyson Thomas and Julie Walker, followed on 45 points by Jean Corfe and Margaret Sherratt.
In the men’s section, claiming the spoils were Chris Miller and Vic Pretorius on 46 points.
Sharing second place on 45 points were Tilly Nel and Roel Germs, as well as Gordon Moody and Kerry Fielden.
Tied for third on 44 points were Brian Richards and Nico Faber, as well as Dave Page and Cleve Walker.
