Young riders ready for dressage champs
The South Coast girls are wished the best of luck to bring back those trophies and rosettes.
THREE young riders from the South Coast have been selected to represent their province at the upcoming Land Rover South Africa Dressage Youth Championships held at Shongweni Club this weekend.
Rebekah Shipley (15) a pupil at Port Shepstone High School will ride her horse Shekinah in the Junior Prelim classes. Caitlin Upfold (13) will be riding Espoir Rouge in the Children’s Novice section while her younger sister Rachel Upfold (10) will ride Little Miss Muffet in the Pony Rider Prelim classes. The Upfold sisters attend Ethan Christian School in Shelly Beach.
These young girls had to take part in trials in November in order to be selected and are taught by Brigette Osborn from Greenhills Farm in Ramsgate.
They will be riding as individuals in tests as well as team tests this weekend. They are all enthusiastic disciplined riders and are thrilled to be able to represent their province and the South Coast at this level.
