DESPITE the heavy rain last Saturday, there was a wonderfully warm atmosphere at Umtentweni Tennis Club for the Christmas get-together.
Much fun and laughter was the order of the day along with good food and drink.
Chairman, Foxy Norton, thanked everybody for being there and announced that their ‘dividends’ were being paid out in the form of a free meal which was much appreciated by all present.
It was great to have so many spouses and friends joining members for this happy and enjoyable event.
Grateful thanks to Elena Whateley and her team who decorated the clubhouse so beautifully and to Chloe Dutton for providing the music.
Also to Dan Dimitriu who did a sterling job supplying liquid refreshments. What a help the washer-uppers were and Louis and Jean Marx thank you for all your assistance.
Colin Barker has re-painted benches and done other odd jobs around the club. Your hard work is much appreciated.
Upcountry visitors are very welcome to come along for a game on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons from 2pm onwards.
It is always a treat to have different styles of tennis to test our capabilities on the court.
Members, before you all spend all your money on Christmas gifts and food, please remember to put some aside for subs which are due in January. Just an early reminder.
Members wish Keagan van der Merwe and his bride-to-be, Cynthia, all the best as they tie the knot next Saturday. May your marriage be blessed with much happiness and laughter.
Saturday duty: December 17 – Rod Norton; December 24 – Gareth Olivant.
