Annual Maistry event receives fishy support

The heavy rain did not deter anglers from participating in this competition.

PORT Shepstone and Uvongo beaches were a hive of activity with a large contingent of enthusiastic fishermen last Saturday. It was once again time for the annual Maistry fishing competition.

Anglers came out in their numbers in support of the annual event despite wet weather conditions from Port Shepstone Sandspit (No 4) to Orange Rocks, Uvongo.

Anglers enjoyed a festive and merry prize-giving at Action Sports Bar, Marburg later that afternoon.

Most anglers walked away wondering if they should turn professional, so good were their catches. But it wasn’t all about winning prizes – it was about having fun!

“It was a great idea and we certainly look forward to next year’s event,” said organiser Neville Naidoo. The organisers of this popular competition wish to thank the generous sponsors and helpers who made this event possible.
