Wine and golf at Southbroom GC

The tournament has been an annual fixture for more than two decades.

THE annual DGB golf day at Southbroom Golf Club saw Sandy Fitzgerald and Gill Huddy win the women’s section on 47 points.

Runners-up were Jeannette Peyios and Mary Carolan on 45 points.

In third were Sharon Turnbull-Jackson and Sandy Fitzgerald on 44 points, followed by Geraldine Treherne and Val Volck on 41 points.

The men’s comp was won by John Neaves and Barclay Shearer on 49 points, counting out Tony Thomas and John Fox, as well as Roel and Art Germs.

On 48 points were Graham Volck and Geoff Skelton, as well as Johan Cloete and Barry Stott.

Next were Tony Westoby and Terry Doré on 47 points.

The Saturday comp was won on 95 points by Biffy Dunn, Mary Carolan, Shelley Myers and Michelle Davies.

Men’s winners were Colin Steyn, George Haswell, Roel and Art Germs on 96 points.

Runners-up were Gordon Moody, Kerry Fielden, Brian Hoggart and Dave Page, edging out John Fox, Russel Baird, Charlie Watt and Derrick Lawrence.
