Honorary life membership for Tweni Tennis Club’s Jean Marx
The club wishes Raj Naganna all the best for his upcoming tournament.
THE Umtentweni Tennis Club AGM was held last Saturday, and went particularly smoothly, with more than enough attendees, creating a decent sized quorum.
Having done such a magnificent job as chairman in 2016, Foxy Norton was re-elected chair for 2017.
The rest of the committee stands pretty much unchanged and as follows: Dan Dimitri (vice-chairman), Anne Payne (secretary/treasurer), Reel Fincham (match secretary).
Due to her excellent service and long standing membership, Foxy was happy to announce the decision to award Jean Marx with an honorary life membership.
Jean has also handed over the scribe duties to Chantelle Donald as of this report.

In further news, Tennis SA approached the Umtentweni Tennis Club and has been given the “go-ahead” to host a junior tennis tournament here, sometime in March.

If you are a beginner and dead keen to play, members would be happy to steer you in the direction of one of our resident coaches who will get your game up to club playing level, in no time at all.

Lastly, the club would like to wish veteran Raj Naganna all the best for his up-and-coming senior’s tournament at the German Club in Sandton from February 9 to 12.
