WATCH: Bowling giants battle it out at Riverside BC
There was lots of laughing, joking and socialising throughout the games.
THE Bowls SA ‘B’ Interdistrict Championships, that began at Riverside Bowling Club last Monday and ended with the final match at the same venue last Friday, was a great success with new acquaintances being made and great fun had by all.
Presented by Bowls SA and sponsored by Perfect Delivery, the tournament’s competitiveness and level of bowls played was of a top standard.
Convenor Barbara Brook said that it was awesome that the event took place here.
“We have the facilities here at Riverside. It was a great opportunity not only for the club, but for the South Coast as well.”
She thanked all the players for their participation throughout the week and congratulated all the winners on their achievements.
There was some hot competition among the teams, but clearly everyone was having an enjoyable day. In the end there had to be winners – Johannesburg Bowls Association (JBA) (women’s section) and Boland (men’s section).
The women’s player of the tournament, Rienie Lucas of Gauteng North Bowls talked about the sport she loves: “You can play it whenever you want to.”
Gavin Erasmus of Johannesburg Bowls Association (JBA), the men’s player of the tournament, also waxed lyrical.
