Tennis courts were busy, thanks to Tourism Tennis Tourney
It was a rare treat for tennis lovers.
ALL roads led to three tennis courts last weekend, Umtentweni, Uvongo and Douglas Mitchell, where the Ugu South Coast Tourism Tennis Tournament 2017 took place.
Headed up by the KZN Tennis Association the tournament formed part of a developmental tennis journey which aimed to expose the junior tennis talent of the province to the people of the greater South Coast region.
Tournament director, Natalie Grandin, said that the event aimed to identify new talent and to ignite fresh interest in the sport.
“This event followed the KZN South African Local Government Tournament held in Uvongo in December, but was of a considerably higher standard, with the cream of KZN provincial tennis on display,” explained Natalie. A total of 85 players played in the tournament.
