Eye-catching performance as Sports and Specials drop their tops
Sunny Sunday was a perfect day for the car run.
THERE was an excellent turnout for the March Sports and Specials breakfast run on Sunday last week, with some eye-catching sporty models dropping their tops and adding flair to the line-up of interesting cars.
Sports and Specials’ regular, Peter Lilliecrona, who took his immaculate 1981 Triumph TR7 for a cruise, was accompanied by his cousin Magnus Lilliecrona from Sweden.
Peter’s grandfather was Thure Lilliecrona, the founder of Uvongo, and Magnus is the great-grandson of Adam Florus Lilliecrona, Thure’s brother. Magnus is the first of the Swedish Lilliecronas to visit their South African relations in Uvongo.
After a rainy Saturday, the sun came out and the day was perfect for a leisurely car run.
The Sports and Special parade of eye-catching models, classic and contemporary, took a leisurely cruise along Margate beachfront then proceeded to Beaver Creek Coffee Farm near Port Edward.
There the car owners refuelled on an excellent breakfast and plenty of coffee.

Anyone with any interesting vehicle is welcome to join the informal Sports and Specials car enthusiast group on the regular monthly outing.
Next month Sports and Specials will join the Scottburgh Classic Car Club for breakfast on Saturday April 22.
Details have yet to be finalised but a fun quiz is planned en route from Port Shepstone, commencing at Pennington, for those who want a chance of winning prizes.
