Last Man Standing ‘something new’ for South Coast cricket, hopes Ashley Lombard
The beauty of this format is that it's fast, fun and doesn't take too long.
ASHLEY Lombard will be starting a Last Man Standing cricket league on the South Coast soon.
He is also hoping to revive interest in cricket on the coast and hopes that the league would help in doing this.
Part of his plan is to play locally again next season. LMS is, in short, an 8-a-side T20 version of the game.
However, before things can get under way, eight teams need to sign up to make it worthwhile for everyone.
Games will then be played on a round-robin basis. There will be prizes for the winning team at the end.
The games will be played on Saturdays and should last about two hours each.
There is potential for players who excel to be selected for provincial teams.

All player statistics are entered into a data base and will be available online daily.
“The LMS league is very popular upcountry and we have talented cricketers in this region so we could prove to be a force to be reckoned with,” said Ashley.
