Tough start for rugby Warriors but things should improve
It was also going to be a difficult game, but even so, the result was disappointing.
HOPEFULLY the worst is over for the Riversmead South Coast Warriors.
The local rugby team endured a horror start to the league season, losing 88-0 to Durban Collegians in the Wahl Bartmann Day and the 2017 Fidelity Moor Cup opener at King’s Park last week Saturday.
While all the teams they will face this year have quality players, it certainly did not help that the Warriors were depleted due to a number of key players being injured.
The second team also took a hammering, chalking up a score AB de Villiers would be happy with.
“It was one of the worst weekends in the Warriors history,” said a dejected director of coaching, Christo Henderson.
It’s also worth noting that it is something of a privilege to even be in this league, competing against the top players.
So, any exposure and experience the locals can get is worth it, even if it means making tackle after tackle after tackle.

All is not lost, though, as the Warriors will be at home this Saturday against UKZN Impis.
The match will be played at Douglas Mitchell Sports Ground with kick off expected to be at 3.30pm.
