Crayfish, bronze bream aplenty as autumn fishing picks up
Crayfish have been a very popular catch this week.
THE weather has been getting better over the past week and fishing has started picking up.
Rivers are still flowing quite nicely and have brought some colour to the water.
With flatter seas more and more anglers have started fishing again. Fishing has become a lot more productive, and thankfully so.
It’s crayfish season and lots of anglers have been bagging plenty, but guys please remember those permits and remember your bag limit is eight.
Not many reports have filtered through but the bronze bream are feeding freely as the water conditions are almost perfect for them.
Various points from Stiebel Rocks down to Port Edward have been doing well with a lot of hound sharks, greys and rays being caught in the evenings.
Orange Rocks has been producing a fair amount of fish over the past week.
Sandspit has also had a good few catches of kob, grunter and shad.

Deep sea fishing has not been overly spectacular of late but a 21kg wahoo was caught recently on Riptide.
An 18kg tuna came out on Awesome Charters but otherwise fishing has been a little slow.
