Margate women enjoy Wild Coast golf sortie
There's been some good scoring at the club of late.
MANY of the Margate Country Club women enjoyed a trip to play at the Wild Coast Sun CC last Tuesday, so there wasn’t a regular competition on the go.
The next day the Wobblers alliance was won on 86 points by Carl Zurfluh, Dave Boyd and Freddie Boshoff.
In second place on 84 points were Eddie Gommersal, Henry Truter and Brian Jeffreys, on a countout from John Gibson, Frank Merrill and Thys Bothma.
The Arthur Tomlinson Floater went to Piet Pretorius, Ken Norval and Alan Davies on 76 points.
Thursday’s Carreira/Curlewis Cup (Week 13) was won by Poena Meintjies on a superb 44 points.
Three off the pace was Doug Johnston, with Patrick Mavundla next on 40 points.
Nearest the pins were Derek Egerton (2nd) and Patrick Mavundla (16th).

Saturday’s combined Stableford, sponsored by the Wild Coast Sun and Margate CC, was won on 75 points by Patrick Mavundla and Ed Steyn, on a countout from Ronnie Mtshaka and Ed Steyn, who had a great day as the pivot.
In third were J Botha and E Kleinhans on 73 points.
Nearest the pins were Hans van der Walt (4th) and Eddie Davies (16th).
The women’s Connie Day betterball Stableford went to Grace Fourie and Ada Brits on 43 points, by two from Jean Page and Rina Rito.
