‘G Fab’ breaks his duck and Kim wins again at Port Shepstone Country Club
The golf course was in fabulous condition, allowing for some wonderful golf.
GRAHAM Fabricius has finally won the strokeplay title at Port Shepstone Country Club.
He’s won plenty other titles, so it seems odd that he hasn’t won this one, but that’s the beauty of club champs pressure.
He broke his duck in emphatic fashion, winning by 14 shots, scoring 70 and 74.
Ironically he came into the tournament on the back of some not such great golf (by his standards) and a mysterious rib injury.
“I’m glad to get it done, it’s been sitting there for the past two years,” he said.
With an 11 shot lead going into Sunday he wasn’t under any pressure.
He soon increased this lead with birdies at the 1st and 4th holes.

And so when he made an eight on the 9th hole he wasn’t too bothered. Not that much bothers him at all, to be honest.
He birdied the 11th and holed a bunker shot for a birdie on the 12th. His only blemish on the way in was a double bogey on the 15th.
Jarrod van Wyk was second (and therefore A division winner) on 81 and 77, with his father Gavin van Wyk the B division winner just one shot behind.
Dr Ayoob Bux won the C division on 182.
The previous Wednesday’s comp was won on 46 points by Greg Hornby and Koos Fouche on a countout from Peter Stoppel and Albert dos Santos.
Kim Strauss won the women’s champs on 159, the second time she has added her name to this trophy.
The Dip Spar sponsored the men’s section and the South Coast Herald the women’s section.
