EnduroX to round off bike fest

Excitement is building ahead of the festival.

THERE will be non-stop action – biking and otherwise – at the inaugural South Coast Bike Festival, taking place in and around Margate from April 27 until April 30.

The bike fest kicks off with a classic bike opening parade from Margate’s Desroches Hotel on April 27 at 10am and the official opening function, featuring the Mtwalume Brass Band, at the main stage at 10.15am.

Also taking place on April 29 will be the Dezzi Festival of Speed at Dezzi’s Raceway. A packed racing programme kicks off at 7am and concludes at 3pm.with a procession under police escort to Margate beachfront where the prize-giving will be held.

The final festival day, Sunday, April 30, starts on a high note with Round One of the Powasol EnduroX Series at the Experiential Energy Zone, after which the party moves to the Shelly Centre where family entertainment will be on tap all morning.

The Brian Capper Trial Bike Show is at 9am, the Biker’s Blessing, at 9.30am and the Shelly Centre Mass Parade starts at 10.30am.

Festival musical entertainment continues with Faye and Wren, PJ Powers and Just Jinger at the Carling Black Label Beach Stage.

The Custom Bike show takes place at the Boulevard Building at 2pm and the Powasol EnduroX Pro final completes the day’s entertainment at the Experiential Energy Zone at 3pm.
