An ace for Patrick at Margate CC
Things were a little quieter this week after the excitement of the Margate Challenge.
PATRICK Mavundla produced the highlight of the week at Margate Country Club last Thursday, with a hole-in-one on the 4th.
He went on to win Thursday’s comp on 42 points, three ahead of Vusi Maphumulo and Allan Halvorsen. He obviously won nearest the pins on the 4th, while Alan Davies was nearest on the 16th.
Sandi Johnston won the women’s comp on 32 points last Tuesday, edging out Margaret Taylor by one and Evelyn Burls by two points respectively.
The next day the Wednesday Wobblers’ alliance saw Cyril Greensmith, Thys Bothma and Derek Egerton take first place on 85 points.
Runners-up were Otto Mutschler, Hans Dallinger and Nico van Vuuren on 84 points.
Third place went to Wimpie Jordaan, Dolf Willemse and Peter Rogers on 77 points.
The Arthur Tomlinson Floater went to Frank Merrill, Andrew Dickerson and André Henn on 68 points.
Saturday’s monthly medal, sponsored by Hibiscus Retirement Villages, was won on nett 70 by Elvis Khawula, counting out Patrick Mavundla.

B division honours went to Mot Moleele on nett 66, three clear of Alan Davies.
C division spoils were claimed by Allan Halvorsen on 42 points, four ahead of Angus McLachlan.
Nearest the pins were Carlos Peirera (4th) and Ronnie Mtshaka (11th).
The women’s comp was won by Grace Fourie, Margaret Taylor, Lesley Erasmus and Anita Scheepers on 150 points.
