Good field and plenty funds raised for South Coast Hospice at Southbroom Golf Club
Scoring was superb, as was the weather.
SOUTHBROOM Golf Club played host to a South Coast Hospice fundraiser last Saturday. There was a good field and some even better scoring on the day.
Three cheers to the Southbroom Golf Club for a massive R100 000 raised. Thanks go to all members and visitors that participated in a great event. It was a perfect day and everything went according to plan.

South Coast Hospice is extremely grateful for the funds raised which will go to the Ann Hobbs Memorial fund. This fund is for the sole purpose of sustainability for the Kingfisher inpatient unit.

Winners in the women’s section were Candida Amm and Irene Schanda on 47 points. Runners-up were Joy Crutchfield and Jo Ledden on 45 points, counting out Lynne Blackstock and Jean Corfe.
Next were Sharon Turnbull-Jackson and Lee Mutch on 44 points, followed by Louise Leal and Janet Humphrey on 41 points and Lorraine Cook and Julie Walker on 40 points.
In the men’s section the spoils went to Stuart Janvier and Piet Joubert on 49 points, one ahead of Tony Holness and Brian Brasher.
In third place on 46 points were John Lison and Arthur Lee, with Gavin Sole and Malcolm Greenland next on 45 points, counting out Ian and Stuart Omand, as well as Geoff Skelton and Derek James.
On 44 points were Charlie Watt and Gerald Fitzgerald, as well as John Fox and David Walker.
The women’s alliance last Wednesday was won by Eileen Neilson, Julie Walker, Janet Humphrey and Candida Amm on 88 points.
Runners-up were Michelle Davies, Mari Fielden, Sandy Fitzgerald and Margie Sherratt on 80 points.
The men’s alliance was much closer, with Brian Hoggart, Gavin Sole, David Walker and Bob Thomas taking top spot on 91 points.
There was a three way tie on 89 points, shared by Colin McKay, Ross McKay, Gary Purtell and Malcolm Greenland, as well as Geoff Skelton, Tim Hitchins, John Whitnall and John Neaves, and also Gerald Fitzgerald, Paul Cole, Dave Neilson and Phillip Verwey.
