Provincial canoeing colours for Willie Kunz

Much of his hard work goes unnoticed.

WILLIE Kunz has again been awarded his KwaZulu-Natal canoeing colours in the grand masters category (60 to 65 years old).

He attended the awards evening at Marine Life Saving Club in Durban with his wife Colleen last week.

“I am super happy at being awarded colours again as it is both rewarding and encouraging after all the hours training,” he said.

Willie presumed the colours came as a result of his third place finish in the K1 category last year.

Willie Kunz has received his provincial canoeing colours again.

He couldn’t race in the K2 as he did not have a partner at that stage.

Looking ahead, he will be racing in the KZN Championships on August 5 and 6 and then the South African Championships on August 12 and 13.

He’s also got his eye on the world World Marathon Championships which will be from September 4 to 10.
