Anthony & Basson win MBA golf day at Port Shepstone CC

The focus was more on camaraderie than golf.

THE 9th annual Master Builders’ Association golf day was held at Port Shepstone Country Club last Friday.

As always, there was a brilliant atmosphere on the day, with 120 golfers enjoying the friendly American Scramble format.

Winners were the Anthony & Basson team, comprising Mike Anthony, Elmar Basson, Theo Nicholls and Tony Golden.

Runners-up were MacSharp Timbers, namely Lane Allan, Alan Clark, John Webster and Rob Cubbin.

P & G Construction were third, followed by Comfort Cool in fourth place (Stephen Herbst, Jacques Cilliers, Donovan Scowby and Martin Otto).

The host team, MBA, were fifth, namely area manager Hans Stols, his son Hans, Pat Symcox and John Beekman.

The highly sought after floating trophy went the way of FS Gonsalves and was received by Marcus Gonsalves.

This trophy is awarded to the team or company which has the best tee box and interaction with the players on the day.
