Port Shepstone golfer Altaaf Bux has sweet success in Zambia

It was new territory for the golfer nicknamed 'Halaal' by his peers.

ALTAAF Bux of Port Shepstone Country Club produced the best result in his fledgling pro career on the Sunshine Tour with a top 40 finish at the recent Zambia Sugar Open played at Lusaka Golf Club.

At one point he got into the top 15, thanks to a second round 68 which included a six under back nine.

However, he had a poor final round 75 but still, it was a good result and he can take a lot of heart from it.

In regular news, Koos Fouché and Mathys Eckhout won the Wednesday combined Stableford competition on 71 points, counting out Boetie Thompson and Jimmy Parsons.

Saturday’s betterball Stableford’s winners were Clive Cawdrey and Peter Stoppel on 51 points, counting out Ryan Ringo and Bradley Pearsall.

In third place on 47 points were Phil Myburgh and Brett Pollington on 47 points. Monthly mug this Saturday, May 6.
