Clifford Keys wins wheelchair pool comp

Clifford's win has made the Keys family very proud.

CLIFFORD Keys (34) recently competed and won the wheelchair section in the SA 8-Ball Pool Championships, held at the Ugu Sports and Leisure Centre.

Although entries are few, this section attracts the top wheelchair players in the country.

Clifford is the son of Allison and Ryan who live in Southport. “Naturally, as a family, we are extremely proud of him,” said Allison.

After a bicycle accident in Umtentweni in 1998 in which he broke his back, Clifford matriculated from Sheppie High in 2000 and worked locally for a few years, until he moved to Johannesburg in 2007.

He has competed in the pool champs five times and this was his year – winning the honour for his current provincial team, Eastern Gauteng.
