ROLAND Garros has come and gone and Wimbledon is not far off. In between this has been the staging of the Southbroom Tennis Club annual championships.

There was some entertaining tennis played, with some familiar faces taking top honours.
Winners of the mixed doubles were Johan Vermaak and Zinnia Freitas, who defeated Rolf Gudegast and Luise Mohr. Umpire was Ron Stirling.

In the women’s doubles final, Pauline Lee and Nicky Momberg beat Luise Muhr and Pippa Bromley-Gans.
Winning the men’s doubles final were Ron Stirling and Rolf Gudegast, who overcame Johan Vermaak and Brandon Saunders. Umpire was Graham Joffe.
When it came to the singles finals, the champions were Zinnia Freitas and Simon Lee, who beat Luise Muhr and Rolf Gudegast respectively. Frank Hall was the umpire.
