Busy Monday on the greens for Sezela

Some superb bowls has been on display.

LAST Monday saw the women’s 2-4-2 in the morning with the men playing in the afternoon at Sezela Bowling Club.

In the women’s section, Maureen Lancaster and Liz Payne were first with 4+18, winning vouchers from Atlanta Spur. In second place were Jenny Donaldson and Bryony D’Olivera with 4+8, taking the Umdoni Golf Restaurant vouchers.

Second session winners were Thelma Montague and Gay Symons with 2+4 winning Karen’s Beauty vouchers. Food was provided by Lyn Gough, Jackie Harris, Jenny Wadeley and Penny Ridgeway.

The men’s competition was won by Fred and Ogies from AMBC on 4+17, taking the cash prize of R70. Runners-up were Peter Woolcock and Mike Helfrich on 4+8, winning vouchers from Umdoni Golf and the second session winners were Geoff Donaldson and Ian Adam with 2+9, winning Illovo products. Food was courtesy of Rod Black, Ian Adam and Avenel Todd.

The first couple of rounds of the club singles competition were played on Saturday with a very good turnout and some great bowls on display. The next round will be played on Saturday, July 1.

A special thank you to Gina Lane and Penny Ridgeway for making the egg and bacon rolls and toasted sandwiches to keep the players going through the day.

A Father’s Day braai was held on Sunday and well supported by club members.
