Nassau golf at Margate Country Club

The women played a different format for a change.

ALECIA Hilt won the women’s Nassau competition at Margate Country Club last Tuesday on 41 points.

First nine prize went to Evelyn Burls on 21 points and the second nine prize to Chiappini Boshoff on 20 points.

Wobblers’ alliance went to Konnie Konrad, Ken Norval and Piet Pretorius on 85 points.

Runners-up were John Gibson, Frank Merrill and Dave Parsons on 84 points, on a countout from Rob McGill, André Henn and Gert Bezuidenhout.

Arthur Tomlinson Floater went to Brian Jeffries, Carl Zurfluh and Hanz Dallinger.

The Carriera/Curlewis Cup last Thursday was rained out.

Fortunately the weather was better for the Ivan Curlewis Golf Day last Saturday, which was won by Dolf Willemse and Rob Weyer on 48 points.

Next were Greg Litkie and Piet Ludick on 47 points, with Pierre Malherbe and Allan Halvorsen in third, counting out Alan Davis and Keith Duncalf.

Nearest the pins were Rina Rito (4th) and Patrick Maundla (11th).
