Drifters aiming to ‘pure’ it at Dezzi’s

The home venue presents a great chance to get a close-up view of the action.

THE fifth round of the national SupaDrift Series, presented by Achilles Radial, will take place at Dezzi South Coast Raceway from August 25 to 27.

Tickets are R100 for adults and R50 for children under 12. Practice sessions will take place this Friday (25th) from 12pm till late. Race day (26th) starts at 9am and goes on till late.

Jim McFarlane leads the standings after four (of six) races, while South Coasters Gavin and Brendan Puren are fifth and sixth respectively.

Defending champion Shane Gutzeit is down in 12th spot at the moment. Gavin is 114 points behing Jim, and so probably too far behind to overhaul him.

“I missed the first event due to work commitments so lost points which hurt me for the championship,” said Gavin. The final race is at Carnival City in Boksburg at the end of September.
