RUNNING captain at South Coast Striders, Mark Smith, said the Mandela Day Marathon, run from Pietermaritzburg to Howick, had been a very tough race.

“The toughest part was aptly named Struggle Hill,” he said.
Special mention must be made of Weston Mvunguse, who won the 60+ age category in the 42km.

There was one Strider who took part in the 10km event, namely Wiseman Ncane, who clocked a time of 45 minutes.
