Clear skies at last for Sheppie golfers last Saturday

Port Shepstone is to host Correctional Services' Championship

The Department of Correctional Services (DCS) s playing a five day golf tournament at the Port Shepstone Country Club which started on Monday this week. It is the third time the tournament is being held in KwaZulu-Natal and is being hosted by Kokstad (DCS). Seen at the opening ceremony on Monday are the National Executive Committee. They are (from left) Donovan Wiggill, Gherhard Fortuin, Dudu Nzama, Kgwadu Mohale, Anna Shabangu, Jabulani Zikhali, Ashley Stuurman and Santosh Maharaj.

IT has been a case of ‘cabin fever’ for South Coast golfers this week.

Sheppie’s Wednesday competition was washed out due to rain, so there was much excitement to see clear skies and the sun shining on Saturday for the individual Stableford competition won by Kavish Naidu on 42 points.

Piet Fourie was second on 41 points followed by Ryan Ringo in third with 39 points.

The club will be hosting the Correctional Services’ Championship from Monday, November 20 to Thursday, November 23. Those taking part in this event and the Beekman Classic on Saturday, November 25 are wished good golf.
