Ugu karate clubs enjoy year-end function
The Ugu Karate region is affiliated to Ugu, Karate KwaZulu-Natal and Karate South Africa (KSA), the only recognised organisations that can award provincial and national colours.
WORLD Karate Federation, Ugu karate region observed yet another very successful year.
The Shihans and Senseis and their wives celebrated the year end at San Lameer with a lunch to close off another very successful karate year. The Ugu region comprises eight dojos which have a very close relationship regarding training, development and encouraging the local karate students on the South Coast.

Students competed at elite level brown and black belt, with KwaZulu-Natal colours achieved and medals won at the South Africa All Styles Tournament.
The karate region also had nine students representing Karate KwaZulu-Natal at the South Africa All styles development tournament (white to purple belt) with medals won in this tournament as well.
“Two regional development tournaments were held in Port Shepstone, thus enabling all students from white belt and above to experience tournament karate, thus encouraging our local up-and-coming kareteka, brown and black belts to judge and work towards becoming referees,” said Sensei Frank Moodley.
