Volleyball season comes to an end
The volleyball association thanks the Department of Sports and Recreation for its support.
THE 2017 volleyball season came to an exciting end when a total of 12 teams took part in a final social knockout hosted by the Port Shepstone Volleyball Association at the Marburg Sports Complex last Saturday.
The youngest team was again ‘Super Kids’ whose game is improving by the day and who caused an upset against team ‘Late Comers’.

The senior division was divided into two groups. Group A had ‘Family VC’ finishing top of the group unbeaten and ‘Killer VC’ finishing second. Group B saw ‘Rising Stars’ unbeaten and ‘Assassins’ finishing second. The crossover semi-finals saw ‘Family VC’ beating ‘Assassins’ convincingly and ‘Rising Stars’ beating ‘Killer VC’. The final was an exciting game with ‘Rising Stars’ beating ‘Family VC’. It was great to see brothers Tigs and Basil Manisunker and Collin Rediar still showing their skills.
The premier section had four teams which played in a round robin, Umtwalume, Falcons VC, City Boys and Falcons Men. In an exciting three setter final Falcons Men were a bit too strong for Umtwalume.
The volleyball association thanks the Department of Sports and Recreation for the medals and trophies and for its support. The association also thanked all teams which took part in the league this year and are looking forward to a better season next year.
