3 Tips for rookie anglers wanting to catch a first inedible
Don't be shy to ask for advice, from the catch all the way to the release.
Catching a big inedible fish for the first time is quite a thrill.
In fact, no matter how many you have caught, the thrill remains. That’s why fishermen love the sport so much.
Here are some tips for rookie anglers to keep in mind.
1. Make sure your tackle is up to the task. Speak to any expert fisherman… they’ll be happy to guide you through everything from casting to knots.
2. Handle the species with care and caution. Keep them on wet sand, use barbless hooks, and do not flip them over. Check out the videos on YouTube for more info.
3. If you are going to be tagging your fish, the above is extremely important. Also, if you haven’t read the manual on tagging (oritag.org.za ), make sure you do so before your next outing.
