South Coast Striders take on the elements in Midlands and Sani
South Coast athletes are certainly not afraid to mix it up at events far from home.
A number of South Coast Striders have taken part in various different events, keeping fit and pushing their bodies to the limit.
The MiWay Midlands Ultra Triathlon was held at Midmar last Sunday.

Freek Stander and Eldo Marais took part in the Ultra which consisted of a 1.9km swim, 90km cycle and a 21km run.
Eldo finished in an impressive time of 7:01 with Freek finishing in a commendable 7:58.

Lou Schoeman competed in the sprint event, which consisted of a 600m swim, 20km cycle and a 5km run. She finished in a time of 1:50.
It was the first triathlon for all three athletes.

Mignon Klusener, Fikile Mkutyukelwa and Ryan and Cathy Mather-Pike took part in the gruelling 42km Sani Stagger last Saturday in extremely wet and cold weather.
Mignon, Cathy and Ryan finished together in a time of 6:07 with Fikile not far behind in 6:21.

The club’s annual general meeting will take place at the clubhouse in Uvongo on Wednesday, December 6 at 6pm.
This will be followed by the annual prizegiving and year-end function.
A meal will be provided and cold drinks will be on sale. Please bring you own alcoholic beverages.

All members are encouraged to attend the function, to celebrate with the prize-winners, as well as socialising with fellow members. Families are more than welcome.
