Chris Miller is golfer ‘Most Fowl’ at Southbroom Golf Club

The Chicken Run at Southbroom Golf Club has proved to be quite a competitive and popular thing this year.
Winner of the most chickens during the year was Chris Miller, and he was duly awarded the ‘Order Most Fowl’ for his efforts.
The Chicken Run is played every Friday afternoon over nine holes.
Wednesday’s rain-affected competition was won on 18 points by Janet Humphrey with Julie Walker next on 17 points.
In the men’s section, ‘Great’ Dane excelled in the rain, with Dane Adendorff carding 33 points to win by two from Reinard Schuhknect.
Benji Leonard was third on 29 points. They were among the few that finished.
Things were a little brighter last Saturday, with new women’s president Irene Schanda teaming up with Janet Humphrey to win on 47 points.
Jeanette Peyios and Sandy Luus were second on 44 points.
In the men’s section, Allan Woods and Nico Faber were the lucky ones after the countout, taking first prize on 47 points.
Runners-up were Gene Morrison and Bill Ewings, as well as Gordon Moody and Kerry Fielden.
One point further adrift were Nic van Deventer and Cleve Walker.

The new women’s committee is Irene Schanda (president), Michelle Davies (captain), Allyson Thomas (vice-captain) plus Julie Walker and Shirley Jeffery.
The open day shoot-out last week Friday was won by Pat Mavundla, Ronnie Mtshaka, AB Sdumo and Koko Zithumane.
Second place went to Rodney Lowe, James Fergus, Karl Beck and Jan Kleinhans followed by Chris Miller, Mike Jacquet, Brian Hoggart and George Wright in third.
Mot Moleele, Sydney Shingange, Sbu Ntozakhe and a ‘ghost’ were fourth.
