Jon Fox to stand for re-election at Southbroom GC

It's time for the December rush.

The annual general meeting for Southbroom Golf Club will be held in the clubhouse on Tuesday, December 19 at 6pm.

Members are advised that current executive committee members John Fox (chairman), Gerald Fitzgerald (captain), Don Osbourn and Russel Mackenzie have offered themselves for re-election in terms of Clause 16 of the Constitution.

Last Wednesday’s winners, with all to count on highlighted holes, were Sharon Turnbull-Jackson, Shelley Myers, Janet Humphrey and Jean Corfe on 94 points.

In the men’s section the winners were Malcolm Greenland, Mike Lig, Graham Volck and Brian Hoggart on 109 points.

Runners-up on 106 points were Paul Cole, Phil Verwey, Derrik and Bruce Matthew.

Saturday’s competition was won on 43 points by Lorraine Cook and Meryl Chambers, one ahead of Ursula Spoerri and Augi D’Ewes.

One further adrift were Irene Schanda and Shelley Myers.

The men’s betterball was won on 50 points by Dave Page and George Wright.

On 49 points were Gordon Moody and Kerry Fielden, as well as Johan Wentzel and Riaan Croucamp.

Chicken Run winner was Peter Hunter on 22 points, followed by Geoff Skelton on 21 points.

Colin McKay was third on 19 points, with Cyprian Xolo and Danie Schutte next on 18 points.
