US trip a treat for Tweni tennis ace Raj
He loved the experience and would gladly go again.
Raj Naganna (70) of Umtentweni Tennis Club recently returned from the USA where he played for South Africa in the 70+ age group in the World Super Seniors tournament in Orlando, Florida.
His teammates were captain Mike Pilot, André van Staden and Gert Meyer, from other regions within the country.

Raj expressed his deepest gratitude to the generous sponsors who made his exciting trip to the USA possible.
“The South African teams were at a disadvantage since they don’t have clay courts to practice on,” he said.
He explained how on clay the ball doesn’t skid on but rather ‘drops dead’.Once the players made the necessary adjustments, they were more competitive.
Raj is currently ranked number one in his age group in the province and three in South Africa.
He’d love to play more international tournaments and is working hard on maintaining his skill and fitness levels.
As always, Raj was encouraging people to jump off the couch and to get out there and exercise.
