Curlewis Cup rained out

The region has certainly not lacked for precipitation.

The Wednesday Wobblers competition at Margate Country Club was won by Hans Dallinger, Dave Parsons and Bob Weanie on 81 points, from Louie Gouws, Freddie Boshoff and Nico van Vuuren on 78 points.

In third place on 77 points were Carl Zurfluh, Eddie Gommersall and Anton Lepey.

The Arthur Tomlinson Floater went to John Gibson, Dave Morrison and Rob McGill on 73 points.

Unfortunately, last Thursday’s Curlewis Cup was rained out.

Speaking of Curlewis, Andrew made the cut at the Joburg Open at Rand Park GC last weekend, but didn’t have his best of weekends ever, finishing in T67 after rounds of 73, 66, 73 and 73.

Still, the 66 shows he very much still has it. Watch this space.

Last Saturday’s men’s combined Stableford was won on 75 points by Sbu Ntozakhe and Ronnie Mtshaka.

Runners-up on 68 points were Richard Plaskitt and Michael Downs, followed on 66 points by Doug Johnston and Derek Egerton.

Nearest the pins were Fanie Terblanche (2nd), Angus McLachlan (11th).
