Striders cross finish line for 2017

It's been a pretty good year all-round for the club.

South Coast Striders wrapped things up for the year with a prize-giving and braai at the clubhouse in Uvongo recently.

Top achievers were also recognised for their efforts during the year.

The main awards, in the women’s and men’s categories respectively, went to: Moira King and Hannes Streuderst (top walkers), Deborah Berridge and Goodman Nqayi (top runners), Sarah Morrison-Young and Fabio Caldeira (top juniors).

The most improved runner was Linda McKeone while the Spirit Award went to running captain Mark Smith.

Kim Jones received the Chairman’s Award.

Chairman’s Award went to Kim Jones, presented by David Morrison-Young.

The new committee for 2018 is as follows: Freek Stander (chairman), Louise Morrison-Young (treasurer), David Morrison-Young (secretary), Kim Jones (race convenor), Mark Smith (running captain), Mary-Lou Schoeman (admin/PRO), Marcelle Ripley (walking captain).

The function was well attended and the 2017 committee was thanked for all its efforts during the year.

Everyone enjoyed a delicious braai afterwards.
