Richard Plaskitt on form at Margate CC

There have been some good scores returned.

The women have been conspicuous by their absence in recent competitions at Margate Country Club.

Jim Finn, Peter Hunter and Dave Morrison combined to take first place, scoring 82 points in the Wobblers threeball Alliance last Wednesday.

John Gibson, Thys Bothma and Richard Plaskitt were second on 80 points, followed by Nico van Vuuren, Andre Henn and Rob Brien in third with 74.

The Arthur Tomlinson Floater was won by Hanz Dallinger, Hanz Beilhartz and Piet Pretorius on 64 points.

The Pro Shop’s individual Stableford last Thursday was won by Angus McLachlan on 39 points, two shots ahead of Johann Erasmus.

There were no ‘takers’ for the nearest-the-pin at the second but at the 16th, Doug Johnston’s shot earned him a prize sponsored by Hibiscus Retirement Villages.

Richard Plaskitt, Alan Halvorsen, Thys Bothma and Michael Downs, won the fourball alliance on Saturday with 94 points on a count-out from Ronnie Mtshaka, Elvis Khawula, Patrick Mavundla and Sbu Ntozakhe.

Charlie Hartman, Mike Geiger, Neil Townsend, and Robin Shutteworth were third on 91.

Nearest the pins, sponsored by Margate Pro Shop, were won by Hilgard van Rooyen (second) and Ronnie Mtshaka (11th).
