Double century for Uvongo parkrunners
The Uvongo parkrun starts at St Michael's beach every Saturday at 8am.
FOUR regular Uvongo parkrunners, who recently notched up their 200th parkrun, have a special reason for welcoming in the new year.
Andrew Spence, Bill Davis, Peter Naude and Mary-Lou Schoeman are hoping that 2018 will see them reaching their next major parkrun milestone to earn their coveted green shirts awarded to parkrunners who notch up 250 runs.

Reaching the 200 mark means that each of these runners has completed an amazing 1 000 parkrun kilometres. To reach the official milestone they will need to add 250km to their tally.
Uvongo parkrun is very busy over the holidays when regulars enjoy the chance to welcome runners and walkers from all over South Africa and even the rest of the world.
Like the other 138 parkruns in South Africa and the many in different countries, it is a free, timed 5km run held every Saturday morning. It starts at St Michael’s beach at 8am.
In recent years Uvongo parkrun entries often topped the 300 mark but entry soars during the holiday season. The record entry for Uvongo is 462 runners and walkers.
