Herald Fishing: Holidaymakers enjoy superb fishing
It's a good time to drop a line.
The fishing and weather have been very kind to the holidaymakers. There has been good fishing to be had by everyone.
The offshore fishing has continued to pick up as we move further in to the summer season.
Although the spots are more crowded with the arrival of the holidaymakers, the fishing has been fantastic along the entire coast.

Some north-easterly winds, a fresh mackerel head and you are in the money for this time of year.
The entire coast has been firing when the conditions align.
The inedibles have been feeding more on the second day of north-east wind as opposed to the third.
The best method for targeting some of these fish this time of year is finding a nice deep hole or rip and placing your bait in the middle or on the edge of this.
There are reports of some decent-sized shad being caught all along the coast.
Bronzies are still on the bite with reports of some close to 4kg having been landed.
Anglers are still getting the odd kob on the Sandspit in Port Shepstone.
Other species coming out have included pompano, kingfish, grey sharks, hammerhead sharks and diamond rays.
The brown rays have started to appear.
These guys love a small redeye bait placed on a sandbank.
Don’t be afraid to throw close when fishing off one of the many points along the South Coast, as this often produces the quickest pull.
Anglers out at sea are catching a lot of dorado.
