Buccaneer Ayanda inspires young soccer talent
The was a great atmopshere on the day.
The Ayanda Gcaba U20 soccer tournament is a great platform for young talent to be discovered.
That’s the feeling of Orlando Pirates’ defender Ayanda Gcaba of Gamalakhe, after whom the tournament is named.
The Buccaneer was excited to be part of the tournament which was held recently at the Ugu Sports and Leisure Centre.

A total of 18 teams from areas in and around the South Coast battled it out for the trophy.
The two teams which made it to the finals were the Ward 5 team from
Gamalakhe and the All for One team from KwaNzimakwe.
The full-time score was 2-2, but All for One won on penalties 5-3.
at the Ugu Sports and Leisure Centre on December 23.
At the end of the tournament, Ayanda handed over the trophy, as well as merit awards to players with potential, namely Zero Mkhungo, Eric Baleni, Beam Mavundla and Sthembiso Duma.
Goalkeeper of the tournament was Neo Dlamini and the golden boot and player of the tournament went to Koster Mpisane.
Lindokuhle Duma was named the most skilful (promising) player of the tournament.
During the tournament, there were other activities happening on the sports ground such as aerobics.
The tournament was sponsored by the Ugu District Municipality, Ray Nkonyeni Municipality and Coca-Cola Africa.
