Top golfers prepare for Closed
The tournament helps towards selecting the league team.
Southbroom Golf Club will host the annual Southern KwaZulu-Natal Closed on Saturday, January 27.
It will be played over 36 holes strokeplay for the A division and 36 holes individual Stableford for B division (handicaps 10 and up).

Carts will be permitted, as the league in which Southern KZN will be competing this year (A division) allows carts.
So far, 24 players have entered, including two-time defending champion Graham Fabricius of Port Shepstone Country Club.
In regular Southbroom news, Shelley Myers and Jean Corfe won the Wednesday competition last week.
They had 47 points to win by two from Solange Fox and Margi Sherratt, as well as Lorraine Cook and Sandy Fitzgerald.
In the men’s competition, winners were Craig Treherne & Roman Slepika on 51 points.
Runners-up were Gerald Fitzgerald and Paul Cole on 50 points, with Derek James and Roger Hissey next on 49 points.
Last Saturday’s alliance saw Julie Walker, Lesley Godley, Jo Ledden and Lorna Johnson win on 101 points, followed by Mari Fielden, Jeanne Powell, Di Morris and Heleen Hissey on 94 points.
In the men’s section, winners were Doug Butcher, Richard Derman, Brian Richards and Mike Slade on 99 points.
Two adrift were George Wright, Kerry Fielden, Dave Page and Gordon Moody on 97 points.
Third spot went to Gerald Fitzgerald, Chris Miller, Jim Cook and Olliver Ransome on 96 points.
Eugene Orsmand had the countout to thank for a Chicken Run win last Friday, carding 19 points, as did Kevin Murray and Paul Coetzee.
Stuart Harrison was one point further back on 18.
