Good turnout for trips at Sezela BC
The club will be hosting its usual Paul Jones competition next Monday, January 29.
THE second tournament of the year, the mixed trips format, was well supported by our friends from AMBC and Sezela with the sponsors being Halfway Toyota in Park Rynie, Food Lover’s Market in Scottburgh Mall and the Illovo Sugar Mill in Sezela. The tea-time food was courtesy of Cassie van Aswegen, Ellie Woolcock, Thelma Montague. Irene Hutton, Ian Adams and Lyn Geils and wonderful food it was too.
The conditions were very trying with a strong wind blowing.
Mike and Maureen Lancaster with greenkeeper Robert Mnguni won the second session on 2+18. Runners-up were Rose Daniel and Alex and Carol Cameron on 4+11. Winners were Sezela’s Jerry and Michele Davey playing with greenkeeper Senzo Radebe on 4+22.

In the league matches our third division team was, once again, undone by AMBC but the second division team had a great win against Margate Bowling Club which was lying in second place. New to the league, both Roger Lane and Kevin White played their part, leading for their respective teams. Well done!
We are always trying different things at Sezela and on the last Sunday of the month, traditionally our braai day, we will be hosting our inaugural “chicken run” when the winning bowlers will take home either chickens and the less fortunate the offspring of a chicken!
The club will be hosting its usual Paul Jones competition next Monday, January 29. This is when we mix up playing positions, teams and rinks which is always great fun. All welcome.
