From the bowling greens: KBA gets back into swing of things

KINGFISHER BA
The Kingfisher Bowling Association is slowly but surely getting back into the swing of things.
The executive wishes all players good luck and good bowling in the Quadrangular in Port Natal this weekend.
Don’t forget your entries for the mixed pairs and greenkeepers’ pairs – entries close on February 3.

BANNERS REST
Joe Ashworth and Leonie Bloem won the Golden Moon Spur and 19th Hole mixed pairs, from runners-up Rob Lyle and Jeannette Offer.
Winners of the Golden Moon Spur 2-4-2 mixed pairs were John Keppler and Leoni Booth.
Placed second were Rod and Mary Phelps and third Dice Graaff and Myra Doubell. The 50/50 board was won by Jennie Sammons.
MARGATE BC
Spur competition winners were Gerry Duffy, Deon van Schalkwyk, Yvonne Bausek and Louis Fouche.
Last Friday’s 2-4-2 winners were Hermann Scheinberg and Sharon Scheinberg, from Denzil Massyn and Gary Hess.
Valentine’s Day brunch, bowls and champagne on Wednesday, February 14. Cost is R40pp, guests welcome, lots of prizes to win. Phone 039 3120351.
MARGATE CC
The Hopden’s Manaba Spar open trips last Wednesday was won by Ralf Burls, Johan Gerber and Sandi Johnstone.
Second place went to Dora Vosloo, Sharon Scheinberg and Sandy Ferguson.
Next month’s competition will be on Valentine’s Day and there will be special prizes for the best dressed man and best dressed woman.
PORT EDWARD
Winners of the mixed pairs sponsored by Robin Hood and Indulgence Beauty Salon were Frank Foley and Myra Doubell from Marianne and Jokkie van Buuren.

Sheppie currently tops the Men’s Saturday League (first league) after eight rounds, with two to go.

Wolf Security mixed trips was won by Dereck Schorn, Manny Piquito and Monica Middlewick.

The winners of the Harbour View SuperSpar women’s trips were Tammy Gibbons, Daphne Hounsell and Nossie Patterson.
Winners of the Dr D’Arcy sponsored mixed trips were Geoff Kelleher, Jane Massam and Cosmos Gumede.
Friday social bowls will be played from 2.30pm.

Dennis and Jenny Graham with Lyn Coetzer and Peter Marsh won the Razzle’s mixed fours from runners-up Tony Johnson, Annette Suther, Len Rossler and Nellie Davis.
Next event is the South Coast Herald men’s pairs next Tuesday (6th).
