Visitors swell the numbers at Umkomaas BC

In a ‘numbers’ format, three players of similar skills are grouped together and scores are individually kept.

THE overcast weather and occasional showers have been a welcome respite from the oppressive heat and we have seen good turnouts on our greens this past week.

On Tuesday afternoon an enthusiastic group of holidaymakers from the Blue Marlin had a lively game and we welcomed a few of them back at our social game on Sunday.

As they will be enjoying our lovely weather for a while yet, we are sure to see them often before their return to (much) colder climes.

Our monthly ‘killer’ game on Wednesday was well attended.

Lobo Pillay was the winner of the petrol voucher, kindly sponsored by Halfway Malanda.

Friday’s 2-4-2 saw Marj Eriksen and her former pupil, (from way back when), Rod Forte, take the winners’ cash prize sponsored by one of our members. Simon Schaaij and Elmarie Young took the Umdoni Golf Restaurant meal vouchers and the session prize of Spar vouchers went to Mac and Joyce Mackrory.
