Dave Neilson aces Sheppie’s 14th hole
You need skill, perseverance and a little luck to win.
A hole in one on the 14th by Dave Neilson of Southbroom Golf Club saw his team win the Beekman Business Day at Port Shepstone Country Club last Friday.
His wife Eileen was alongside to celebrate, as well as playing partners Norman and Shirley Jeffery.
It was definitely their lucky day, as they also won the countout after scoring 93 points.
Being forced to settle for second were Guy Yeadon, Sandi Johnstone, Graham Gold and Rina Rito.
In third place were Tony Fairbairn, John Beekman, Shaun Nathanson and Jesse Verster on 89 points.
The previous Wednesday’s competition was won on +16 by Daan Swanepoel and Greg Hornby, by five from Koos Fouche and Dick Wheelwright.
One further back were Jacky van Heerden and Rob Calder.

Last Saturday’s competition was won on 48 points by Leon Reeders and Basil King.
Runners-up were Jaco van Rensburg and Gary Massey on 47 points. In third spot were Paul Geoffery and Abel Yeeranna on 46 points.
