Flip and Dewald dovetail to perfection at Margate CC

It was a regular week, with some consistent golf produced.

Grace Fourie won the women’s pro shop competition at Margate Country Club last Tuesday, with Beryl Williamson and Hanetjie Pretorius in second and third place respectively.

The Wobblers three-ball alliance was won by Dave Morrison, Nico van Vuuren and Otto Mutschler on 89 points.

In second place were Louis Gouws, Frank Merrill and Freddie Boshoff on 84 points, counting out Peter Hunter, Rob McGill and André Henn.

The Arthur Tomlinson Floater went to Roy Nolan, Ian Morriera and Rolf Speilmann on 57 points.

Chris Neil won the pro shop competition on 36 points last Thursday, one ahead of Keith Duncalf.

Nearest the pins were Johan Stoltz (2nd) and Keith Duncalf (11th).

Last Saturday’s betterball Stableford saw Flip Fourie and Dewald Jordaan clean up on 51 points.

Tied for second on 47 points were Richard Whittington and Johan Erasmus, as well as Robin Shuttleworth and Eddie Davies.

Nearest the pins were Robin Shuttleworth (7th for two) and Kevin More (16th).

The women’s combined Stableford competition was won on 77 points by Lizzie Meyer and Agnes Speilmann, from Joan Minnaar and Beryl Williamson on 76 points.

In third place on 74 points were Lesley Erasmus and Friedl Kotzbauer.
