Three ‘seconds’ for sailor Rowan Clark
He was consistent enough, but just could not get to the winning line in first place this time around.
POINT Yacht Club had a bustling weekend with both dinghy and keeler racing.
South Coast sailor, Rowan Clark, produced a consistent performance on day two of the Holburn Class Champs last Saturday.
A diminished fleet of only four Lasers joined forces with four Flying Fifteens.

Jan Larkens won the first of three races by mere seconds over Clark, with a lift that hit him first that saw him surge for the line in the shortened one lap race.
In the second race, Larkens hit a sand bank and had to get off his dinghy and push, earning a disqualified on his race card. First was Jerome McLoughlin with Clark taking another second.
The final race for the day, Race Officer Kevin Bingham set a short, sharp sprint up the Maydon Wharf channel, with a one way beat to a finish line set off the yacht mole.
Larkens jumped the gun by a minute ahead of the rest of the fleet and didn’t bother to finish when he realised his mistake. First across the line, McLoughlin finished 24 seconds ahead of Clark, who notched up his third second for the day.
