‘Next level’ test for Brittney-Fay at SA Women’s Masters
She has the game, now it's to do it on the big stage.
The province’s top woman golfer, Brittney-Fay Berger is looking forward to mixing it up with the professionals again when the SA Women’s Masters tees off at San Lameer Country Club this Thursday.
There’ll be around 60 professionals and 25 amateurs in action.
Brittney-Fay finished matric last year and is going to concentrate on golf only for this year.
The idea is to see if she can get her game to the level where she can go to Q-school at the end of the year for the Ladies’ European Tour.
As anyone who has tried Q-school will know, it’s an expensive exercise.

Her game is a lot stronger than last year and hopefully she bring out her best this week.
She played in a recent event in Pretoria with the pros where she ended up tied for 21st, with only the top 30 making the cut.
At one stage things got quite exciting and she was in contention half way through the second round.
Unfortunately she blew out on the back nine, but has learned a valuable lesson: don’t watch the leaderboard or chase birdies.
It did, however, show she has the game to compete. In the meantime, she’ll just keep plugging away.
